If you talk about images in inches, centimeters or millimeters it has no meaning without mentioning the resolution too. If you talk about images in pixels you don't have to mention the resolution. ![]() What happens if you take an image and reduce its size by half is that the pixels will be more on each inch, and we say it's now 150 ppi (pixels per inch you see). The basic measurement of pixel images, Photoshop, jpg, etc. Resolution is a beast that is a bit complicated to explain. Ppi means pixels per inch and is the term we should use. Dpi stands for dots per inch and is/should be used for raster definition. Dpi and ppi are very often confused but people mean the same so it doesn't make much difference if the misunderstanding continues.
